2014 Orientation Dates

Central Washington University knows that a smooth transition to college will enable students to succeed and thrive. CWU has created a four phase orientation process to support students in this transition. Please view the calendar for the 2014 Orientation dates.

    Phase I: Wildcat Day
    [April 12, 2014]

Wildcat Day is Phase I of Central Washington University's four-tiered fall new student orientation program. This program is designed to introduce accepted students and their parents/guests to Central pride, provide you with information about academic departments and majors and provide an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about Central.

    Phase II: Discover Orientation and Enrollment Program
    [TR: June 25 & July 29] [FY: June 30-July 1, July 7-8, 10-11, 14-15, 17-18]

The Discover New Student Orientation and Enrollment Program is Phase II in a series of comprehensive programs specifically designed to acclimate newly admitted students to Central Washington University. During Discover you will hear presentations from faculty and staff, receive valuable information about programs and services, experience a taste of campus life and enroll in your incoming quarter classes.

    Phase III: Wildcat Welcome Weekend
    [FY: 19-23] [TR: 22-23]

Wildcat Welcome Weekend is a mandatory event for all first-year students and will help you begin to feel at home at Central. You will connect with other students, become familiar with campus and get acquainted with the many resources available to you. We want to help prepare you for a successful academic experience. In addition to many fun activities, we have planned several valuable educational sessions and workshops. Wildcat Welcome Weekend participation will count toward the final grade in your University 101 class.

    Phase IV: First Six Weeks Program

The First Six Weeks program is Phase IV of CWU's fall new student orientation program. Residence Hall Staff in collaboration with faculty and campus-wide staff to facilitate programs in the residence halls that address the academic and transitional issues first year students typically face the first six weeks of the quarter.
