2013 STATE SAFETY SURVEY FOR ALL STATE EMPLOYEES
Each year for the last ten years or so the Washington State Department of Enterprise Services Office of Risk Management has asked executive cabinet agencies for updates on their Safety Programs. This is the second year that they have asked all of Higher Education to join with other agencies in providing information on their Safety Programs. The State Office of Risk Management has asked my office to forward this Safety Survey to all employees.
A link to this year’s Safety Survey can be found here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/D755DCN The Survey will be open for all higher education employees through November 14, 2013. Results of the Survey will be provided to higher education institutions in early January. Over 26,200 state employees respond to the Safety Survey last year. All results are anonymous and by clicking on the link, you will be taken to a Survey Monkey website. The results will be submitted to the State Office of Risk Management.
The Safety Survey is an important part of the state’s loss prevention strategy. In the past, state agencies have found that assessing their programs on an annual basis helps reduce the losses in which the state is susceptible. It helps them identify the need for new safety initiatives, and then to plan and implement them. Please take some time to fill out this on-line survey; I promise it only takes a few minutes. If you have any questions about the process or have difficulty accessing the Safety Survey, please contact Toni Burvee at 2335 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org .
