2012 STATE SAFETY SURVEY “EXTENDED” FOR ALL STATE EMPLOYEES
The 2012 State Safety Survey has been “Extended”. We are asking all staff to participate in this survey. (You do not need to take this survey again if you took it last August).
Each year for the last ten years or so the Washington State Department of Enterprise Services Office of Risk Management has asked executive cabinet agencies for updates on their Safety Programs. This year they are asking all of Higher Education to join with these agencies in providing information on their Safety Programs. The State Office of Risk Management has asked my office to forward this Safety Survey again to all staff so those who were away during the summer and have not had a chance to participate.
A link to this year’s Safety Survey can be found here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/PWKYWC8 The Survey will be open for all higher education employees through October 31, 2012. Results of the Survey will be provided to higher education institutions once completed. The State Office of Risk Management has partnered with the State Agency Safety Professionals Alliance to create the survey. Over 18,000 state employees responded to the Safety Survey last year. All results are anonymous and by clicking on the link, you will be taken to a Survey Monkey website. The results will be submitted to the State Office of Risk Management. We will use the Survey results to help develop a safety action plan for addressing the issues identified in the survey.
The Safety Survey is an important part of the state’s loss prevention strategy. In the past, state agencies have found that assessing their programs on an annual basis pays huge dividends. It helps us identify the need for new safety initiatives, and then to plan and implement them. If you have any questions about the process or have difficulty accessing the Safety Survey, please contact Bruce Porter at 2354 or via email at email@example.com .
