During the 2013-2014 Campus Life established learning outcomes that support our work, guide our programs, services, and facility improvements. Below is a list of our stated outcomes that will enhance our students co-curricular experience and guide our assessment practices.
The 2012/13 could easily be described as a year of change, except in the case of Campus Life a more accurate description would be a year of transitions. Upon reflection, change appears to be something that happens. We adjust to it and move forward but transition highlights a process of continued development and adjustments as we have worked to bring Campus Life units together including the addition of Westside Student Life. Although the transition process has consumed a great amount of time and energy we have continued to focus on the student experience and in many cases we have not only maintained services and programs, we have also been able to grow them. Campus Life units completed an internal exercise to identify areas of strength and opportunities to enhance programs and services this past summer. The results from this analysis are now driving four strategic initiatives for the 2013-14 academic year:
1) Professional and Student Staff Development
2) Branding, Marketing and Communication
3) Student and Staff Involvement
Each of these initiatives are being supported by work groups comprised of student and professional staff across all areas of Campus Life. Funding has been allocated to each work group in order to facilitate programs developments and enhance services within Campus Life throughout the academic year.
