Things a Wildcat can do to bring them all together: Family Weekend 2016.

The sun is high; the academic year is lightening up. What better time to show off our very own Wildcat den? Family and friends are invited to a fantastic weekend that includes live music and performances, good food, river floating and much more. It’s time to experience Ellensburg!

Friday, May 6
2015 Juried Undergraduate Student Art Exhibition
10 a.m. - 3 p.m. • Sarah Spurgeon Gallery, Randall Hall • Free
This annual exhibit showcases the best of the best from CWU student artists working in multiple disciplines. Awards are presented in a number of categories, including a purchase award by the Student Union and Recreation Center.

Dinner and a show! Begin the evening enjoying a fantastic meal and the warm ambiance of the Dakota Cafe, located in the heart of downtown Ellensburg. Then continue your evening at McConnell Auditorium with the Central Theatre Ensemble's production of “Mary Poppins.” This meticulously staged musical fuses elements of the similarly titled series of children's books by P. L. Travers and the 1964 Disney film.

An Evening with The Filharmonic

You may have seen them on NBC’s “The Sing-Off”, or sharing the stage with the likes of Linkin Park, The Black Eyed Peas and Pentatonix on a national tour. Or, maybe you saw them in a little movie called Pitch Perfect 2.

This six-member Filipino American a capella group has perfected an energetic mix of soul and pop sensibilities coupled with professional-level choreography and a fantastic stage presence. This performance will be a head bopping, beat boxing treat!

Star Party
9 p.m. • Lind Hall room 215 and Lind hall roof
Join the CWU Astronomy Club and faculty to learn more about Pluto and the New Horizon Mission (9-9:30), followed by star gazing with telescopes and refreshments!
​Note: Lind Hall does not have an elevator. Attendees will need to walk up two flights of stairs to Room 215 for the presentation, and then another two for stargazing on the roof.

Family Weekend Climbing Social
Noon - 3 p.m. • Recreation Center • $5 for gear • Free belaying by our friendly climbing staff! Climb to new heights with your friends and family at CWU's 50-ft climbing wall.
