Why earn a Sport Business Certificate?

The sport business certificate is designed to augment your College of Business degree with a focused examination of the sport business industry.  Student’s will explore the application of marketing, management, law, finance and other business principles as they apply specifically to the sport industry.  The sport business certificate will provide curriculum to prepare students for a career in corporate, professional, intercollegiate or amateur sport organizations.  Among others, graduating students have accepted internships and jobs with Emerald Downs, the Seattle Mariners, the Seattle Storm, the Tacoma Rainiers and the Yakima Bears.

Eligibility

You must be a current CWU student:

Degree seeking students who are formally admitted into a College of Business major which include: Accounting, Business Administration, Managerial Economics, and Economic and Business Forecasting.

Students in other academic programs must satisfy College of Business admission requirements as outlined in the most current Undergraduate/Graduate catalog.  This catalog can be found at the following website:  http://catalog.acalog.cwu.edu/

Program Requirements

The Sport Business Certificate is not a degree program.  Some courses in the certificate program may be used within requirements for College of Business degree programs.  In addition, courses can be used as electives needed to satisfy the university minimum of 180 units.

This form is to indicate that you intend to pursue the Sport Business Certificate as part of your business degree at Central Washington University.  The Sport Business certificate will be awarded upon graduation based on your completion of Certificate course requirements.
