Monica Alcantar-Castro
Accounting & Finance Major
CWU Business Student Ambassador, Spring 2016
College of Business Scholarship Recipient
Accounting and Finance Club Vice President 2016-2017
Monica Alcantar graduated from Goldendale High School in 2014. After touring and considering other colleges and universities, she chose Central Washington University because of its class sizes and the educational opportunities it brought her. Coming from a small town close to Goldendale, WA and being a first generation student, Monica felt welcomed and accepted into the CWU community.
She chose the College of Business because of the availability to speak to and work with professors and faculty one on one. Monica took an accounting class in high school which helped influence her decision to double major in Accounting and Finance. She is currently a member of the Accounting and Finance Club and will be the Vice President for the 2016-2017 school year. As a student ambassador Monica hopes to attract more students into the College of Business especially into the accounting major.
