Mallory Icenhower graduated from Richland High school, and started at Central Washington University in 2014. She is now a sophomore, and is double majoring in Economics and Japanese. She chose Economics because she wanted a career where she could make a difference in the world.

She volunteers in classrooms for international students, and plans College of Business events such as the Global Mixer and the International Cafe with the AUAP and UESL programs. Over the summer of 2015, she studied Japanese in Tokyo at KCP Internatioanl Language School.  Next year, she will be studying in Kyoto, Japan for a year at Kyoto University of Foreign Studies. She hopes that learning Japanese will give her skills that could benefit her career in the future.

"I feel like Central Washington is more than just a university, it’s a community."

“I chose CWU because of the strong connection the staff and faculty have with the students. It’s not uncommon for professors to know their students by name. Everyone is willing to do whatever they can to help each student succeed. Even during my first year here I made a lot of connections with people that have helped me get the best out of my experience here at Central. The small class sizes make it easier for me to ask questions, and talk with other students."

As a student ambassador, she hopes to share with future college of business students what make Central Washington University great.
