Love Conquers Hate, Don't Discriminate

The “Not in Our Kittco” peace march took place on November 14th, 2016 after community members found KKK pamphlets scattered around town. Over 600 community members gathered with signs in an effort to eliminate the hate and discrimination in the community. The peace march was a gateway to creating an environment where all members of the community can feel safe and included. The march started at the SURC and continued throughout downtown Ellensburg. As the march continued on, some people joined in and others shouted and cheered in support. By the end of this event, there was a feeling of love and encouragement in the air. However, the fight does not end here. On November 29th from 5:30-7:30pm in the SURC Ballroom there are going to be presentations followed by an open discussion to discuss further actions on ending hate and discrimination in the community.
