The Kuolt Distinguished Executive-in-Residence Professorship was established in the College of Business (CB) at Central Washington University to attract a professional with extensive executive-level business experience. The professorship is designed to enhance the relationship between the CB and the business community. The Kuolt Professor develops and implements initiatives to increase the visibility, prestige and quality of CB programs. He/she also mentors faculty and students by "building bridges" to the business community in the state of Washington and throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Milton G. Kuolt II was born in 1927, the son of Lutheran Missionary parents. After graduating from CWU with a BA in Economics in 1951, he went to work for The Boeing Company. He started by sweeping floors, and progressed within the company to his final position as business planning manager for the 737 aircraft program. He then became one of the Pacific Northwest's most well-known entrepreneurs when he founded Thousand Trails (a private membership campground chain), regional air carrier Horizon Airlines and O.M.T. (One More Time), Inc., a destination resort company. In 1984, Mr. Kuolt was awarded the CWU Distinguished Alumnus award. He made one of the largest donations ever given to his alma mater in 1988 when he established an endowed faculty chair that bears his name in the College of Business.
Joe Bradley has over thirty years experience in industry as a CPA, Controller, Chief Financial Officer, General Manager and Chief Operating Officer in a variety of manufacturing and service businesses. During his career he has developed and implemented strategies, designed organizations, initiated marketing programs, implemented change and dealt with accounting, financial and operating issues at all levels.
Professor Bradley was hired in a tenure-track assistant professor of Accounting position beginning Fall 2001. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses for the College of Business Accounting programs.
William P. Woods, Jr. was the Kuolt Distinguished Executive-in-Residence Professor for Economic Development and International Trade. Professor Woods holds a BA in Economics from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Stanford University. His more than 25 years of experience as an executive in the food industry includes general management, procurement, production, government relations, sales and marketing functions. Professor Woods' executive experience includes positions with Trident Seafood, StarKist Seafood (H.J. Heinz Company), Bumble Bee/Van de Kamp Seafood (Pillsbury Corporation), ConAgra and Castle & Cooke. His career provided extensive contact with foreign suppliers, export markets, and United States retail grocery and food service markets. A native of Georgia and a long-time resident of the Pacific Northwest, Professor Woods also speaks Spanish and is a retired Navy officer. In his capacity as Kuolt Professor, Mr. Woods taught upper-division courses in strategic management and organizational management.
Sheila C. Mickool was the Kuolt Distinguished Executive-in-Residence Professor for Technology and Entrepreneurship. Professor Mickool holds an MS in Business Policy from Columbia University and, as a graduate student, was on the National Dean's List of University Artists and Scholars. Ms. Mickool is President of the Universal Wireless Communications Consortium (UWCC), an international organization that promotes the worldwide deployment of TDMA/WIN technologies in wireless telecommunications systems. Prior to joining UWCC, Ms. Mickool was President and CEO of D. Garvey Corporation, and previously she served as a senior executive in three Fortune 500 Companies, including Automatic Data Processing and AT&T. With over 20 years of experience in the computer and telecommunications industries, Ms. Mickool has extensive experience in dealing with strategic management issues in high technology environments. In her capacity as Kuolt Professor, Ms. Mickool taught upper-division strategic management courses and lectured in telecommunications, information systems and management classes.
