Jim grew up working in the trucking and construction business. He came to Alaska in 1967 as a truck driver working at the Kennecott mine. He joined Lynden full time in 1970, living in Anchorage, Juneau, and Fairbanks, and became President and CEO in 1983.
Jim is a Navy Seabee, with a tour of duty in Viet Nam. He is a 14,000 hour ATP pilot, an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. He has served as an Advisory Director of Wells Fargo Bank of Alaska; Director, National Bank of Alaska; Director, Boy Scouts of America; Director, Resource Development Council, and the Director of the Nature Conservancy of Alaska.
