Annual Beta Alpha Psi Spring BBQ

The event started off with a tradition Washington rain storm, but the Annual Beta Alpha Psi Spring BBQ was another success! Friday May 12, 2017 students, faculty and financial professionals gathered at North Alder Park over hotdogs, hamburgers and casual conversations between like-minded individuals.

"This event is a great way for students to mingle with professionals in a casual setting."- Professor, Jenny Cravens

This event allows accounting and finance students to meet with business professionals from local accounting and finance firms and learn more about what the field has to offer.

Ashley Kirk, was a large contributor to the event, organizing the students, professionals and of course, the spread. "This is a great opportunity for students to meet professionals and learn how to take the CPA exam, from people who have already passed it."

Students engaged with recruiters and alumni from firms including Moss Adams and Trellis. The conversations were casual, some students discussed why they were interested in the field, tips for the CPA exam and where each professional got their start.

Multiple raffle drawings were held with prizes spanning from Starbucks to Subway gift cards. The event wrapped with a huge give away basket to the first person who could answer what "EIC" stands for (Answer: Earned Income Credit).
