About the BS Professional Pilot

Interested in flight schools within Washington state? The CWU B.S. Professional Pilot Degree prepares you for pilot careers in the aviation industry. Graduates with the Professional Pilot degree can fly for corporations and every major and regional airline in the United States.

Cost and Program Information 

Degree Information 

The flight training is offered at Bowers Field in Ellensburg, WA. The Aviation curriculum is designed to provide a solid foundation in the liberal arts as well as a thorough education and training in a technical discipline. All Aviation courses are by permission. Special program rules and procedures as stated in the CWU Department of Aviation Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) apply to the Professional Pilot degree.  For additional information, please visit the course catalog.

We are no longer accepting applications for the Professional Pilot Major for Fall 2023.

We encourage you to explore the Aviation Management Degree.

Careers and Outcomes 

The Professional Pilot major prepares graduates for entry level careers and leadership roles in the aviation community. 

The Aviation Department is proud to offer many recent graduates the opportunity to apply as flight instructors at CWU.  Earn valuable experience and trackable hours counting toward future employment requirements.
