Representing the Wildcat Voice in Olympia & Throughout the Government!
Student Funded – Student Led – Students in Mind
Get involved with the Office of Legislative Affairs (OLA) and make a difference on the campus, state, and national level. Your involvement can range from planning civically minded events, attending trainings, or advocating for student interests to our elected officials.
The main priority of OLA is to ensure that college is affordable and accessible to all who seek to further themselves and their careers through higher education. OLA works in partnership with the Washington Student Lobby and the United States Student Association to Achieve these goals.
During Winter quarter, Chapter meetings are held at 5:00pm every other Tuesday starting January 15th. Other Activities of OLA and WSA include: attending the Northwest Student Leadership Conference, Washington Student Association General Assembly, WSA Statewide Lobby Day, CWU Lobby Day, Electoral Action Trainings, and Grassroots Organizing Weekends.
Students pay $1 per quarter for WSA activities. This fee goes to maintaining a strong and constant student voice in Olympia.
Student lobbyists from Central and around the state fight for: increases in financial aid, lowering the ridiculous cost of textbooks, and ensuring that higher education is affordable for all.
