Department of Art Scholarships

 

The Department of Art  is pleased to offer a variety of scholarship opportunities, including CWU GSA scholarships, external scholarships, and exclusive Department of Art scholarships designed specifically for art students.

Please mail or hand-deliver a completed application to the Department of Art secretary. You will be considered for all scholarships in which you qualify. For more information, please feel free to contact the Department.

Please note that any student applying for an award must also fill out a valid FAFSA: http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/

Deadline for scholarship applications is Friday, February 27, 2015.

Art Scholarships 2015-2016

First Year Students

Dean’s Scholarship
Amount of award: Partial to full tuition waiver
Requirements:
a. Must be first year art major
b. Portfolio
c. Statement of Interest

John F. Connolly Memorial Scholarship
Amount of award: $500
Requirements:
a. First Year student admitted to CWU
b. Kittitas County high school graduate
c. Art major specialization graphic design
d. Portfolio
e. Statement of Interest

 

Current Students

Arne Randall Memorial Scholarship
Amount of award: $800.00
Requirements:
a. Visual Art Teaching major
b. Portfolio
c. Statement of Interest


Charles Berrisford Endowed Art Scholarship
Amount of award: $500
Requirements:
a. Must be art major
b. Attending CWU full time
c. Demonstrate financial need
d. Portfolio
e. Statement of Interest

 

Graduate Students

Behnke Graduate Fellowship Endowment
Amount of Award: Based on availability of funds
Requirements:
a. CWU Master of Fine Arts candidate
b. Portfolio
c. Statement of Interest


Catherine Hall Moe Scholarship
Amount of award: Based on availability of funds
Requirements:
a. CWU Master of Fine Arts candidate
b. Minimum GPA of 3.2
c. Demonstrate financial need
d. Portfolio

External Scholarships*

C. Farrell Fine Arts and Research Scholarship

This scholarship is available to Sophomore, Junior, and Senior students at Central Washington University who are pursuing a fine arts project in Art, Music, Theatre, or Creative Writing, or who are pursuing a research project pertaining to the History, Geology, Archaeology of Kittitas Valley. This scholarship provides one year of in-state tuition, $200 book allowance, and project costs. Please see their website for more information.

 

McMillen Foundation

This scholarship is available to first year, transfer, graduate, and returning students at Central Washington University, and provides up to $25,000 per year. Please see their site for more information.
