The lecture will take place at 4:00 p.m. in Randall Hall, room 118. The lecture will be immediately followed by an opening reception for "The Logo Show" in the Sarah Spurgeon&nbsp;Gallery (Randall Hall, room 141), from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.</p><p>Rolando Murillo is a San Antonio-based designer with over 15 years of professional design and branding experience. He has won multiple design awards with work in Logo Lounge, Communication Arts Magazine, Graphis, Print Magazine, HOW International, HOW Magazine, Rockport Press, Harper Publishing, The Art Director’s Club of Houston, and many regional and national ADDYs. He is the founder of Murillo Design, Inc.</p><p>Tom Nynas was a former Principle at RBMM in Dallas, Texas, and has had work featured in Logo Lounge, Graphis, Print, HOW, and Communication Arts Magazine. He currently works as the Creative Director for David Sutherland, Inc., and has served as an adjunct instructor of design and typography at Texas A&amp;M Commerce for over 17 years.</p>Thursday, September 181411066554The Logo Show Opening Reception, October 2Thu, 02 Oct 2014 17:00:00Exhibits,Fine & Performing Arts<p>Please join the Department of Art for the opening reception of "The Logo Show", an exhibit of professional logo designs by six nationally recognized graphic designers, all of whom hail from Texas. Curated by David Bieloh (CWU Assistant Professor of Graphic Design), the exhibit features work by: Rolando Murillo, Tom Nynas, Brian Owens, Virgil Scott, Matt Staab, and Simon Walker.</p><p>The reception will take place on Thursday, October 2, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the CWU Sarah Spurgeon Gallery. The exhibit will remain on display through October 26.&nbsp;Sarah Spurgeon Gallery is located in Randall Hall on Dean Nicholson Boulevard and is open weekdays, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and on weekends, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Admission is free. There will be two art studio sessions. The students will have the opportunity to select from the eight different studio areas offered at Central Washington University.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>There will be a morning and afternoon session and the department will be providing a pizza lunch at noon and an exhibit reception and awards ceremony for Look at Me: a High School Student Exhibition at 4 PM. The registration table opens at 9 AM.
