WHAT IS ARMY ROTC?

The United States Army is a force to be reckoned with. To be that force now and into the future the Army is seeking some of the best and brightest young men and women to become Army Officers. Army ROTC is the largest of the three sources by which the Army trains individuals to become Army Officers.  Students take classes, participate in outdoor training labs, and attend Field Training Exercises while working to complete their bachelor’s degrees.  Students are free to participate in Army ROTC up until the start of their junior year with no commitment to the Army.  Beyond the start of their junior year, student must be contracted into the ROTC program in order to continue on to advanced part of the program, get their commission and become second lieutenants.  Cadets can commission into the active Army, Army Reserve or Army National Guard.

All cadets who complete the ROTC program and get their commissions from Army ROTC earn the exact same commission as someone who graduates from West Point.

To help students complete their degrees and earn a commission we offer 2 year, 3 year and 4 year scholarships.  We also offer Guaranteed Reserve Forces Duty scholarships which works the same way as the other scholarship but contract a cadet into serving with the National Guard or Army Reserve instead of active duty.

ROTC is a competitive college program.  One of the best ways to look at ROTC compared to the civilian world is as a competitive junior executive training and selection program.  We are very selective as to type of person that we want to bring into the program.  We look for individuals in terms of three key aspects.

ARE YOU UP TO THE CHALLENGE?

In order to lead the young men and women of America, you must first demonstrate competence by obtaining a Bachelor Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning. Typically, you will obtain a four or five year degree in a traditional academic discipline. In some cases post graduate degree programs are available. The Army Reserve Officer's Training Corps (ROTC) will help you get there, and has a multitude of benefits to offer along the way. If you qualify, ROTC can assist you by providing funding for full tuition, books and other expenses. In addition to providing financial support, ROTC is Leadership Development that will last a lifetime. The training we deliver is part of your college curriculum and the cornerstone of your professional development as a Commissioned Officer. There are several options, ranging from the traditional Four-Year Cadet, who joins the program in his or her freshman year, to the Campus-Based Cadet, who has already embarked upon his or her college journey, but wants to join the ranks of the elite Soldier-Leader, and become an Army Officer. You can do it, and we will show you the way.

ARMY ROTC BENEFITS

Since Army ROTC is also a top managerial and leadership program, there are many benefits to joining. Through Army ROTC you can: Get help with your college tuition with an Army ROTC scholarship; gain experience you cannot find anywhere else; gain the respect of your peers and future employers. Train to become a leader and manager!

ARMY ROTC SCHOLARSHIPS

Whether you are a college-bound high school student or already attending a college or university, Army ROTC has scholarships available. Army ROTC scholarships are valuable in many ways: Two-, three-, and four-year scholarship options based on the time remaining to complete your degree. These are full-tuition Scholarships, additional allowances pay for books and fees.  You can also choose to have your scholarship go to tuition and fees over room and board.

You can earn certain amounts depending on your level in the Army ROTC curriculum: 1st year $300 per month; 2nd year $350 per month; 3rd year $450 per month; and the 4th year $500 per month.
