All majors are encouraged to become involved in the life of the department. Together, the Department and the ASA offer many social avenues for you to become better acquainted with your fellow undergraduate students, faculty, and graduate students in the Resource Management Masters' program.
There is a festive holiday party at the end of each Fall quarter, as well as an annual Spring quarter student-faculty picnic, traditionally known as the "Spring Fling."
In addition, the Anthropology Student Association organizes at least two potluck dinners each quarter, and helps to sponsor other events such as fieldtrips, films, and guest speakers.
You are also encouraged to attend the various colloquium series sponsored by several CWU Departments (Biology, Geology, Geography, etc.) and other student groups. Guest speakers, from within or outside of the University, share current thinking and new insights that will enhance your studies in anthropology. Flyers describing the speakers and topics of particular colloquia are posted almost weekly.
