The Alumni Association began hosting monthly gatherings in the Seattle area in August 2012. These socials are bringing us together to reminisce, reconnect with old friends, and make new ones. Our monthly get togethers are also providing wonderful social and career networking opportunities for our alumni.
World Trade Center Seattle, August 30, 5:30 p.m.
Our first gathering, the CWU Alumni Association End-of-Summer Social, took place Thursday, August 30, in the dining room at World Trade Center Seattle (2200 Alaskan Way). We met CWU’s new Office of Alumni Relations Executive Officer, Grace Greenwich, and heard about the many programs she’s developing for our alumni community. We also met Kathryn Martell, the new Dean of the College of Business, and heard about her plans for the direction of the college.
Broderick Building Atrium, September 13, 5:30 p.m.
Vaughnetta Barton, ‘87, executive director of the Foundation for Early Learning, sponsored our September gathering in the Broderick Building Atrium (615 Second Avenue, near the Seattle Downtown/Pioneer Square Courtyard by Marriott). Roger Gamache, '79, vintner/owner of Gamache Vineyards in Prosser, WA, provided great wine and an accompanying education about processing grapes and differences in the types of barrels.
