Letter from the Director: Changing the Wildcat Way

As we prepare for the 2016-17 year, I cannot help but to smile as the new year brings new and invigorating ways to truly be an outstanding alum of Central Washington University. We serve as great agents of change and we embody the essence of pride in all endeavors. We celebrate one another and we consistently challenge ourselves to be better people, and better Wildcats.

Our campus is changing with the new addition of Science II and the current demolition of the old Samuelson Union building. Our Wildcats are diligently working to change the way our traditions are being followed by unveiling our new 1891 Traditions Keeper booklet so new Wildcats can keep record of their adventures on Central’s campus. Also, in addition to changes in the campus and community, we have shifted the design of our newsletter as to welcome the idea of change.

This past year we have seen alumni engagement soar and philanthropic giving skyrocket. We continue to seek new heights and to repeatedly bring you, our alumni, better ways to remain engaged with us. Whether that is through joining us through membership, attending an event or program in your local area, or maintaining a relationship with us through following our social media, we are thankful in those relationships we have built and those we have yet to build upon.

We continue to welcome the idea of change as we venture into the new academic year and welcome you to join us in our journey towards providing the best Wildcat experience.

Always a Wildcat.

I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples. -Mother Teresa
