Alden Whiteman ’10

Alden fondly recalls the Field Work portions of his Masters in Natural Resource Management at CWU, attending through the Native American Fellowship, a sponsored program. Alden is currently the Tribal College Vice President, having previously worked as a Tribal Gaming Compliance Officer.


Kate Woodley '10

Kate graduated from Central with her degree in Elementary Education. She is currently a fourth grade teacher.


Craig Almont '11

Craig joined Hamilton Construction two years after graduating from Central with a degree in Construction Management. He was recently named the National Railroad Construction and Maintenance Association's 2013 Field Employee for exceeding the company's goals and expectations for a project based in Idaho. During his time in Idaho, Craig joined the coaching staff of the local high school football team, helping the program become the 4th best in the state.


Amanda Carpp '11

Since her graduation with a BFA in Musical Theatre from CWU, Amanda has interned with Disney and performed with Arts West (The Winter Wonderettes) in West Seattle and 2nd Story Theater (Cabaret, Rocky Horror) in Redmond. Amanda is currently starring as “Beth” in the upcoming Arts West production of Little Women.


 

Michael Peschek '11

Michael joined Alegria and Co. in Yakima right after graduating and was promoted to Senior Accountant in 2013. He graduated from Central two years earlier with a double major in Business Administration and Accounting.


 

 

Arturo Torres

La Salle High School recently hired Arturo as its director of admissions. Torres, a Yakima native and Davis High School graduate, most recently worked as a para-professional and after-school program coordinator at Saint Joseph Marquette School and as health and wellness and youth sports supervisor at the Yakima Family YMCA. He has a bachelor’s degree in public health from Central Washington University.


Lyn Arzaga '12

Lyn was recently hired by Durrett & Associates in Yakima. She received her Bachelors degree in Accounting from Central.


Austin Droguett ’12

The bright lights of Southern California called to this Film and Video Studies major. Austin is currently working as a Camera Assistant in the Los Angeles film industry as proud member of Local 600 member. He has had the chance to work with some of Hollywood’s A-List members, including Don Cheadle, Kristen Bell, and Matt Damon.


Lori Lynn Johnston (Hoctor) ’12

Lori Lynn attended law school after graduation, and has since become the first female prosecuting attorney in Klickitat county.

 

Joseph Nelson '12

Upon graduation from Central, Joseph was hired as an emergency medicine scribe at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. During this time he has also volunteered at the Ellensburg Community Health Clinic where he performs patient intake.  Joseph was recently offered admittance to the University of Minnesota Duluth Medical School and will begin attendance in Fall of 2014. At Central, he served as the Native American Student Association President, Senator of the Pre-Medicine Club, and as a member of the Varsity Track and Field team. He graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry.

 

Sharee Samuels '12

Psychology graduate Sharee Samuels was recently featured on the cover of People magazine for their lead article, "How They Did It - Half Their Size". She teaches in CWU's Recreation Center as one of its most popular fitness instructors, proving to be a role model for other students at the beginning of their fitness journeys. Samuels plans on going into a career in elementary education, working with special needs students.


 

Paul Stayback ’12

Paul works for the Washington Employment Security Department in the Disabled Veterans Outreach Program (DVOP). As a veteran himself, he specializes in assisting veterans overcome barriers to employment and securing work, along with dependents of veterans who are 100% disabled.

 

 


Duante' Barnett '13

Duante earned his Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and Administrative Management, and he is currently studying at Central for his Masters in Athletic Administration. He works for Tukwila School District as a Paraeducator and Assistant Football Coach.


Denice Hicks ’13

Denice was a Deans Scholar with an ITAM degree. She began teaching at Everett Community College in the Business Technology department. In June she was granted senior associate status, ending her student career and beginning her career as a full-time educator.

 

Thedra Roebuck '13

Thedra is currently the Office Manager for RET Physical Therapy. She graduated with her Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science and and minor in Athletic Training.

 

 

Jenna Vogel '13

Jenna was hired by Alegria & Co in 2013 as a staff accountant. She graduated the same year with her Bachelor of Science in both Business Administration and Accounting.

 

 

 

Megan McCormick '15 anticipated

Megan is continuing her studies in music, having earned her Bachelor's degree in Musical Arts from Pacific Lutheran University. She is currently the choral graduate-program assistant for Central's music department. Megan was recently crowned Miss West Sound and performed a classical vocal, "Notre Amour" by Gabriel Faure, for the talent portion. She will compete for the Miss Washington title in June 2014.
