Kurt Fletter ’90

Kurt established the Power Plastics Corp in Portland Oregon in 1992. As a fabricator of non-metallic composite and plastic mechanical components, he now adds the 2013 Distinguished Alumni Award from Pierce College to his résumé.


Kristine Hillius (Schmitz) ’90

Kristine just began her 24th year in education this fall. For the past 7 years, she has been principal of North Star Elementary School, in the Bethel School District.


Barbara Houtenbrink Andreasen '90

Barbara graduated from Central with her Master of Science in Organization Development. She has written three books on genealogy, and her most recent book is The Final Port. Barbara is a member of the DAR Washington State Speakers staff.


Richard J Rochelle ’90

Richard followed his love of law to Central Washington University where he majored in Law and Justice, citing Professor Rex Werth as an inspiration. Richard now serves as a Marine Corps Officer.

 

Christopher Christensen '91

Christopher opened his own automotive repair shop, Seattle Auto Works, in 2010, which has received incredible business and will be expanding soon. He graduated from Central with a double major in Economics and Business Administration.


Jackie Wood (Fetterman) '92

Jackie began a family tradition of Wildcats, with two sons following her path through the University, one now currently serving in the US Army a helicopter pilot and the other a nuclear instructor in South Carolina after serving on a nuclear-powered submarine. Her third is currently a crew chief with the US Coast Guard. Hopefully this tradition of Wildcat service will continue – these sons have given her a total of nine grandchildren.


Carrie Zavala '94

Carrie currently works as a Program Manager for the Arizona Department of Health. She is a registered dietician and graduated from Central with her Bachelor's degree in Food & Nutrition Science.

 

Logan Aimone '96

In August 2013, Logan joined the team at School Newspapers Online, a company that provides online publishing solutions for student news websites. He holds an education degree from Central in English Teaching.


Charles Short ’96

On January 15th, Charles Short was appointed as District Court Judge on Okanogan County. He had previously spent several years in private practice as well as the Supervising Attorney of the District Court unit for the Yakima County Prosecutor’s Office.


Teresa Ryan '97

Teresa successfully passed her 3-hour oral examination for her PhD dissertation at the University of British Columbia (Territorial Jurisdiction: the Cultural and Economic Significance of Eulachon (Thaleichthys pacificus) in the North-Central Coast Region of British Columbia). She graduated from Central in 1997 with her Bachelor's degree in Biology.


Richard “Rick” Vogler ’97

Rick put his skills as a member of the CWU Air Force ROTC to great use, moving on to a career that eventually landed him at Air Force Flight School in the role of the Safety and Security Programs Manager. Rick credits his CWU experience for giving him the confidence to pursue the toughest life challenges and now works as a Program Analyst for the US Small Business Administration in Washington DC.

 

Colin English '98

Colin graduated in 2013 from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with his Master's in Public Administration and concentration in Aviation. He recently began his new job with Reid Middleton, as a Senior Airport Planner focusing on Airport Master Plans and Safety Management Systems design and implementation at commercial airports throughout the Northwest Mountain region. He graduated from Central with his Bachelor’s in Airway Science Management. He became a grandfather for the first time this past February 2014!


Andrea Rosen (Bricker) ’99

Andrea was recently awarded a Golden Acorn Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service from the Penny Creek Elementary PTA in Everett, Washington, as sign of appreciation for the work she has done for her community.
