Physical Fitness Standards
Physical fitness is a key component in the development of an Air Force officer and should never be taken lightly. The Physical Fitness Test (PFT) consists of sit-ups, push-ups, a 1.5-mile run, and your abdominal measurement. It comprises the mandatory physical fitness standards required by AFROTC to:
- Activate or retain an AFROTC scholarship and
- Meet the POC Selection Program (PSP) Board, attend Field Training (FT), successfully complete FT and remain in good standing as a Professional Officer Course (POC) cadet through commissioning.
PFT Scoring System
|Sit-ups:||10% of score|
|Push-ups:||10% of score|
|1.5-Mile Run:||50% of score|
|Abdominal Measurement:||30% of score|
- There are five-minute rest periods between events. The sit-ups and push-ups each have a 1-minute time limit.
- You must score at least 75% to pass the PFT.
