Depending upon the availability of Air Force funding, the In-College Scholarship Program might be available to AS 100 and AS 200 level cadets. This is a national competition that will pay for the cost of tuition, up to $900 a year for books and a tax-free stipend ($250 - $400) per month. Sometimes there are two opportunities a year to compete, so it's vital that cadets work hard to complete all the necessary requirements to be eligible. The competition is tough and most of the cadets that are doing well in technical majors and foreign languages tend to get the lion's share of the scholarships. In 2011/12, six of Det 895 cadets earned scholarships. So far, in 2012/13 there are three winners with another round of competition yet to come.
Usually, all information regarding the In-College Scholarship Program will flow from HQ AFROTC directly to our Recruiting Flight Commander. Due to constantly changing information, this program isn't posted on the national web site. For the most current information, please feel free to contact the detachment at (509) 963-2314 or by email address: email@example.com.
