WONKAPALOOZA is both a fundraising event for Seattle Children’s Hospital as well as a Quincy High School senior project for three of our guild members. It is being held at The Gorge Amphitheater in George, WA (http://www.georgeamphitheatre.com/events/). There will be concessions, games, music by John Lindahl (https://soundcloud.com/johnlindahl), a video presentation by our guild, the Pearly Whites Junior Fundraising Guild (https://www.facebook.com/Pearly-Whites-Junior-Fundraising-Guild-111125158997466/) detailing the work we have done to benefit Seattle Children’s Hospital since 2008, & the coups de grâce, is the dusk screening of the original Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory! 100% of the proceeds will go directly to Uncompensated Care for SCH! We have a donation page for the Pearly Whites, https://giveto.seattlechildrens.org/pearlywhites & our goal for this event is to raise $25,000 to bring our grand total since 2008, to $100,000! Join Puget Sound Energy alongside the CWU Astronomy Club for a viewing of the Perseid Meteor Shower from the Renewable Energy Center patio. Come enjoy the views, activities, and meteors! Arrive by 10pm, our gates will close for entry shortly after. You may leave anytime, our gates will open for exit.

What to bring: Blankets, warm clothes, snacks, binoculars, telescope, and your friends & family! We will provide chairs, drinks, snacks, and a telescope to share

Join us at Thorp Mill for a fun and engaging program learning all about stream power! With hands-on activities participants will explore how water is used to generate power and how streams shape the landscape around us. We will experiment with stream tables, have a rubber ducky race on the mill ditch, and learn how the mill harnessed the power of the Yakima River to run its machinery!
