General Admission: Adults $12, Students/Seniors $10, CWU Student w/ID $7 www.cwu.edu/tickets

In this wild action-filled comedy, the wily Scapin, servant to the household of Geronte, promises to help in the affairs of his neighbor’s son, Octave, then to aid in those of his own charge, Leander (Geronte’s son). Both young men are madly in love with down-and-out beauties (Hyacinth and Zerbinette) and both need money to help solve their individual predicaments. Scapin understands a good trick will always win over  and he recruits Sylvestre, Octave’s servant, into his schemes. Overflowing with improvisation and madcap characters, this play is a riotous frolic of theatrical hijinks.

Parents may consider some material unsuitable for their youngest children. May include situations, language or actions that may startle some patrons.

04/18/2015 - Art + Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thon

ELLENSBURG: EAT, PLAY, STAY! - Thu, 2015-04-16 20:00

Brooks Library is hosting an Art + Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thon on Saturday, April 18 from noon – 5 p.m.

The impetus behind this global project is research which indicates extremely poor representation within Wikipedia of women artists, and women subjects in general,  as well as a lack of women contributors and editors of articles.

Attending this free event will enable participants to:

  • Establish a Wikipedia account and learn how to edit and write articles
  • Contribute to or submit original articles about women in the arts (and beyond)
  • Learn research skills for finding reliable sources of information to use in their articles

Anyone is welcome to participate: students, faculty, community members, women, men. Participants are welcome to research and contribute to articles on the subject of their choice. Additionally, we will have resources and subject suggestions for those who want to participate but do not have a subject in mind. We are focusing our research and articles on women in the arts and sciences from the Pacific Northwest.

Increase your digital skills and contribute to the “Internet’s largest and most popular general reference work."   Please help us get the word out about this unique event to your friends, students, and patrons.

For more information, check out our LibGuide: http://libguides.lib.cwu.edu/ArtFeminism
