Join us for the 14th annual KVH Foundation gala, Boots and Bling. Scheduled for May 20, the KVH gala is one of Kittitas County’s largest fundraisers and we are expecting another sold out event. This year we will be raising money to support pediatric patients across the spectrum of our services. The 2017 gala will again showcase our Pick-Your-Prize raffles featuring 5 packaged experiences. Additionally, the event will include many opportunities for guests to win gift certificates and products from a wide variety of businesses, as well as silent and live auctions. The evening will end with live music from Rusty Cage. Dinner is catered by Curbside on 5th.

Join CWHBA as for a day working at the Kittitas County Habitat for Humanity house 18 construction site.  No experience or tools are required and guys are welcome to join the build team.  We just ask you to wear a turquoise shirt to make the team identifiable! Lunch will be provided.  Friday, May 19th

Veny will discuss his experience with anger, depression and suicide, and will focus on ways that individuals may see their illness as an asset in both their life and their relationships.

The Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance will be at the Rotary Park mountain bike course.

The sounds of traditional Native American drums and songs will fill the air Saturday, May 20 at the CWU Friendship Gathering and Pow Wow. The celebration of Native American culture, traditions and history will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the CWU Japanese Garden Lawn with a variety of events including dance, storytelling, and special drum performances by Spirit of the Renegade and Indian Nation. This event is free and open to the public. The Friendship Gathering and Pow Wow is sponsored by the CDSJ and is made possible in part thanks to a generous grant from the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe. If you're looking for a great way to get outside this spring, our fly fishing class is the perfect way to get started. Evenings on the Fly will teach you the basics of fly fishing in two evenings in the classroom and on the Yakima River! On Friday evening, at Worley Bugger Fly Co, students will learn how a fly rod works, how to correctly identify parts, as well as gain the ability to correctly choose a fly rod and how to properly rig your fly rod up for nymphing and dry flies. Use this evening to get to know your equipment and pick up any last minute items in preparation for your evening on the river the next day! Saturday evening will be spent on the Yakima River where an expert guide will teach students casting, mending, roll casting, how to properly identify insects and hatches on the river, as well as how to read the water. Enjoy the river, the sunset and the evening hatch! Required equipment is available to rent or buy through Worley-Bugger Fly Co.
