High Country Artists will celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Carpenter Family Home with a Pioneer Queen's Tea and Art Festival during the 4th of July weekend. All are invited to participate in this year's milestone event. Master artist Ned Mueller will offer a two-day workshop on Fresh Air Painting, and Author Janine Brodine will provide two workshops on Writing.

Central Washington University's Continuing Education department is offering an educational beer and brewery tour! First, travel to Loftus Ranches Hop Field & Bale Breaker Brewing Company to see how hops are grown, processed, and used in beer making. Mike Rowe and the crew from the Discovery Channel?s Dirty Jobs shot an episode at our next stop, the Hop Union. Learn all about what hops go through before finding their way to your favorite brewery. Then tour and taste at the Yakima Craft Brewery. Of course there will be samples of fresh, hoppy beer. (Lunch included).
