The Dispute Resolution Center of Yakima & Kittitas Counties is having two Communication and Conflict Resolution Skills for the Workplace trainings, one in Yakima and one in Ellensburg. In Yakima: Thursday, October 6, 2016, 8:00 AM to 5:15 PM Friday, October 7, 2016, 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM OR in Ellensburg: Thursday, November 17, 2016, 8:00 AM to 5:15 PM Friday, November 18, 2016, 8:00 AM to noon. This 1.5 day training will focus on communication and conflict resolution skills to address workplace problems and disputes. The skills learned in this training will be useful in all settings where people interact with one another, such as between coworkers, with customers, between supervisors or human resource staff and employees, and in personal relationships as well. This training primarily utilizes large group presentation and discussion, as well as experiential practice as a means of teaching these skills. Participants will leave with concrete methods of addressing the conflict in their workplaces and in their lives.
A community presentation and discussion about a variety of locally relevant science topics held the first Tuesday of each month at Cornerstone Pie. In October Andrea Nesbitt will be speaking about "Wind Energy 101: Components, design, economics, maintenance, siting, and more".
"Math and Cryptology" taught by Stuart 'Secret Agent' Boersma. Refreshments provided.
U-pick pumpkin farm family weekends, Saturdays and Sundays 10am-4pm. Haunted forest and corn maze Thursdays and Fridays 6pm-10pm.
Metric Century and half century bike ride through Kittitas County. Well supported ride with rest stops and refreshments along the routes. Fund raiser for RSVP and Volunteer Center of Kittitas County.
Petsense locations will partner with animal shelters, rescue organizations, and educational vendors nationwide to help educate the public and find loving homes for 1,200 homeless pets during their biggest life-saving event to date - "Forever Home 2016!"
Adoptable pets from several shelters and rescues will be showcased at Petsense from 10am-5pm, Saturday, October 1st and 12pm-5pm, Sunday, October 2nd. During this event, every adopter will be given a bag of pet supplies from our generous pet vendor partners. Television stations, radio stations, newspapers, and online venues will be provided a pre-produced public service announcement to make the public aware of this huge nationwide effort.
