The Beckoning of Lovely Ellensburg is a community event happening 7/17/17 at 7:17 pm at North Alder Street Park. We aim to create (with your help!) a special evening of 'lovely' in honor and in memory of Amy Krouse Rosenthal, author of books for children and adults. Amy, who sadly passed away at age 51 this past March, was bright, whimsical and an astute observer of life. She sought joy and friendship everywhere. Life Support is dedicated to raising the needed funds to enhance medical services within Upper Kittitas County. The EMS and medical infrastructure must advance now. Recreational use is growing at an alarming rate that will only serve to add more limitations to an already underserved area. The four distinct seasons, enjoyed by the thousands of residents that live here, attract over 2 million visitors annually. In addition to those who come to “play”, 12 million people pass through this stretch of I-90 en-route to other destinations each year.

Central Washington University's Continuing Education department is excited to introduce STEM Cats – A Digital Arts Summer Camp for ages 8 to 14! Week 2: Calling all boys and girls who want to be the designers of the future! In this class if you can dream it you can make it - create your first action figure, design custom jewelry, or make a new toy, learn how to prepare a model for 3D printing, and create a design portfolio to showcase your work! Using professional-level modeling software, kids will sculpt, texture, and render their own 3D creation. No prior experience is necessary and 3D designs will be available on a password protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. (3D prints may be purchased separately through an online provider.) Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

This 1.5 day training will focus on communication and conflict resolution skills to address workplace problems and disputes. The skills learned in this training will be useful in all settings where people interact with one another, such as between coworkers, with customers, between supervisors or human resource staff and employees, and in personal relationships as well. This training utilizes large group presentation and discussion, as well as experiential practice as a means of teaching these skills. Participants will leave with concrete methods of addressing the conflict in their workplaces and in their lives.
