Provides an overview of the evolution of higher education in the united states.
3 credits, offered Fall Quarter

EDHE 511 Research in Higher Education
An introduction to the characteristics and various approaches to designing and conducting research projects in higher education.
4 credits, offered Winter Quarter

EDHE 515 College Student Development
Theories of student development, and their applications in higher education student affairs programs, services, and activities. Emphasis will be placed on theories of psychosocial, cognitive, moral, environmental, and identity development (minority, traditional age, and non-traditional), as well as theories of learning.
3 credits, offered Spring Quarter

EDHE 517 Organizational Dynamics
Overview of organizations as dynamic systems, emphasizing a culture of change influenced by intra-personal and interpersonal beliefs and behavior relative to ethics, leadership, motivation, communication, decision-making, problem solving, conflict resolution, and stress; impacting professional growth.

EDHE 518 Program Evaluation and Assessment
Overview of program evaluation planning, and how to assess programs efficiently at various higher education settings.

Overview of basic areas of communication, emphasizing the relationship between leadership and communication.

EDHE 572 Leadership and Supervision in Higher Education
Develop leadership techniques and behavior traits to improve productivity of supervisors and leaders in the workplace, while enhancing interpersonal skills for career success.

Prepares administrators in leadership skills in the area of diversity management across all sectors of education and society.

Examination of legal issues relevant to American colleges and universities to provide students with the fundamental knowledge of higher education law for administrators.

Elective courses in the area of higher education are currently in development and will be offered starting in Fall 2014.
Students may also browse the Graduate Catalog to find courses that fit their educational or professional goals. Elective credits must receive departmental approval before enrolling.

EDAD 596 Internship/Capstone Project
Students may choose to complete an internship or project as the culminating experience. The internship or project can be completed in one quarter or completed during two, consecutive quarters.
5 credits, option to complete available every quarter

EDAD 700 Examination
Designed to credit and record supervised study for the master's examination. EDAD 700 is completed during or after a student completes EDAD 596.
1 credit, option to complete available every quarter
