Job Summary

This position is needed to assist full-time staff (fiscal technicians and professional accountants) with increasing workloads and to perform audit functions relating to student accounts.  This position will experience increasing responsibilities and will perform critical tasks for the department.


Job Duties

Assist full-time staff in the preparation of financial statements and journal vouchers, auditing sales reports and systems, auditing and reconciling accounts, maintaining the debit card system, reviewing billing system data, preparing reports and statistical data and performing other related office duties. 

Minimum Qualifications

Applicant must be currently enrolled at CWU as a full-time student and remain as such through the 2018 and 2019 academic year.
• Field of Study – Accounting, Finance or closely related field.
• Solid understanding of double entry accounting
• Basic spreadsheet and word processing skills
• Good communication (verbal and written) skills
• Good problem solving skills
• Ability to think and work independently with little direct supervision
• Ability to learn quickly and accept direction and constructive criticism from others
Preferred Qualifications
• Completion of Accounting 252
• GPA of 3.0 or greater
• Experience with macros and/or database programming
Educational Benefits

Pay & Work Schedule

Pay: $12 per hour.
Schedule/Hours: 20 per week during academic year, 40 per week during summer.
Working Conditions: Work is performed in an indoor office setting with in-person interactions.  It is essential to be able to remain at a desk/computer work station to perform extensive data entry and other computer-related tasks and create/maintain filing systems for departmental records. 
Benefits: As of January 1, 2018 all Student and Temporary/Hourly positions are eligible to accrue paid sick leave. This leave will accrue at one (1) hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours of work.
