Academic Advising

Rachel George

Academic Advisor, STEM Teaching Program aka “Teach STEM”

Rachel is a Kittitas Valley native, growing up on her family’s farm just outside of Ellensburg. She credits the farm lifestyle and her involvement in 4-H for teaching her many things. Her love of teaching and working with youth has been present since “coming home from the first day of kindergarten.”

Rachel is a Central alum and graduated with her Bachelors in Elementary Education and Middle Level Math. She would then go on to teach 8th grade Algebra for a couple of years before going back to where it all began and worked for Washington State 4-H as a program coordinator.

Through all of this Rachel completed her Masters in Youth Development, something broad enough to cover both the formal and informal education worlds.

While she loved the opportunities that took her to new places and on lots of adventures, Rachel looked for a chance to return home both to Ellensburg and to Central. She now is the advisor for the Teach STEM program which launched in Fall 2017. Already the program has exceeded expectations!
