Orientation Videos for Online Students

LET'S GET STARTED!

Below are a series of videos that will help you understand how to navigate the CWU world. Please take some time and view these videos. If you have any questions regarding the material in a video, the contact information for each department is provided below the video.

1. Create Your Wildcat Connection Login

Your very first step is to establish your CWU Wildcat Connection login (username and password). This login information will be used for your Safari (Student Financials, Admissions, Financial Aid, Academic Progress, and Records Information) account, your Groupwise (CWU email) account, and your Blackboard (online course management) account.

2. Get Prepared Academically

Next, you will want to make sure that you are familiar with the CWU Catalog, your  degree program, your transfer credit records, and academic advising at Central.

3. Register for Classes

Once you have familiarized yourself with your transfer credit and your degree program, it is time to register for classes.

4. View Your Degree Progress (CAPS) Report

Once you are admitted to your major, you will be able to view your degree progress at anytime via your CWU CAPS report, also known as your "Academic Requirements." To access your CAPS report, navigate to your Student Center in Safari and under the academics section, click on the drop down box and select "Academic Requirements"

5. Access Your Courses in Blackboard

Online classes are offered using Blackboard, CWU's online course management system . Please view the below tutorial to get started with Blackboard.

6. Find Library Services

There are many research services available to online students through the CWU Brooks Library. Please view to below video to learn more about these services.

7. Understand Your Financial Aid
