To determine your eligibility for English 101, choose the appropriate test score range.

**500 and above**

Scores of 500 or above on the Verbal portion of the SAT make a student eligible to take English 101.**400-499**

Scores of 499 or below on the Verbal portion of the SAT are below eligibility requirements for English 101. Students who have a 499 or below are allowed to take the Compass writing placement test. A minimum score of 75 on this test makes a student eligible for English 101. A student may only take the Compass test three times.**Any incoming freshman with a score of 499 or lower who is attending an orientation, will be required to take the Compass writing exam. Passing this course qualifies a student for English 101.

**19 and above**
