Academic Advising

Krissy Petersen

Academic Advisor, Aviation and ITAM
- Professional Advising

Krissy comes to Central Washington University and the College of Education and Professional Studies after traversing the country in pursuit of her passion. She is originally from Michigan, where she grew up on Lake Superior and honed her love of learning. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations from Northern Michigan University and, after graduating, realized that she wanted to help give students the same supportive and positive experience she had while in college. So she returned to higher education to earn her Master’s in Student Affairs Administration from Michigan State University. Krissy worked in Minnesota and Florida before moving to Washington State. Before becoming an Academic Advisor she served as a Residence Director and Career Services Specialist at various institutions. She is thrilled to be helping Wildcats and looks forward to talking to students about their passions, goals and academic pursuits. In her spare time Krissy loves to read, write, craft, cheer on the Spartans and Seahawks, and explore the Pacific Northwest with her husband, Scott, and dog, Maeby.
