Bridges' goal is to provide enriching and successful mentoring to underprivileged students across the state of Washington. Mentors provide students with the support, encouragement, information, and help necessary to bridge the gap from high school to college.
Through the Math and Science Grant, Bridges has been given the opportunity to employ mentors with strong backgrounds in math and science to provide tutoring in the local schools. Mentors offer both in-class and after school assistance for those students who need some extra help in these vital subject areas.
Through the CACG grant, Bridges is able to organize grant-funded fun and educational activities including CWU campus visits, and workshops.
Through the Gear-up grant. Bridges is able to organize grant-funded fun and educational camps for students. Past events include week-long summer camps, CWU campus visits, and spring conferences. Mentors teach a variety of subjects including college awareness and STEM subjects.
CWU’s TRIO Student Support Services grant has been renewed for another five-year cycle.SSS Spring 2014 Newsletter
