Access Technology Resource Center


The Access Technology Resource Center (ATRC) in the Disability Support Services (DSS) Office was established to provide CWU students and employees with a quick and efficient way to arrange for print materials to be translated into an format such as braille, large print, digital audio tape electronic text.

Technicians will produce print materials in formats for:

  • students with documented visual impairments and/or visual language processing disorders,
  • faculty and staff with documented visual impairments and/or visual language processing disorders,
  • CWU employees who must provide print s to students, faculty/staff and/or visitors to the University in order to ensure equal access to a University-sponsored event.

Things to remember when requesting print materials in formats:

  • Requests are addressed on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Print conversion takes time - requests must be made in a timely manner (a minimum of 24 hours).
  • For CWU students, staff and faculty, documentation of a visual or visual language processing disorder must be on file with DSS.

Requests and print documents to be converted into an format may be Emailed to: ATRC@cwu.edu or delivered to DSS in Bouillon Hall 205. For additional information about text conversion, call the Access Technology Resource Center at (509) 963-2072.
