VP Issues:

Dennis Defa was present to bring us up to date on the collective bargaining process. The union is looking at negotiating several master contracts. A draft of the new rules for civil service should be available from Olympia this fall.

Rich reviewed this week's Cabinet meeting.

Financial Services Issues:

The Legislature did not call for a readjustment on appropriations. We will make internal adjustment.
Joe indicated that there are starting to be positive comments on PeopleSoft processes. Joe will need to borrow Jana for some processes next week.
The accounting manager position interviews are happening this week.
On our paychecks next week, the tax cut should be reflected as well as the retirement contribution changes.
There are two cashier positions currently being filled.

ITS Issues:

Domestic long distance rates will be going down by .01 per minute (14% reduction). DIS policy audit conducted by the state is scheduled for August 1.

HR Issues:

Temporary employment - meeting is scheduled with the union people next week to discuss changes.

DOP HR 2005 presentations (September 4, 10:30 and 1:00, SUB Theater) - How Will Civil Service Reform Affect You?

Facilities Management:

John Wayne Charter Agreement is ready to be signed. Copy presented by Bill for Rich to submit to the President.
An LID is being presented for Helena Street. CWU is supportive.
Brooklane/Wilson Creek - CWU has offered to move Wilson Creek to accommodate development of Brooklane and 14th with the City.
Walnut Mall Utility Construction Impact document was shared by Bill.
Dining services provided by Holmes will be shifted to other areas before Holmes is removed.
Bill distributed the 03-05 Omnibus Program Request information.

EIS:

SAFARI Project - continuing. Next go live is scheduled for the end of September, bringing up admissions. Prospects is running well. We are still running on budget. Trakker Update Meeting - scheduled for tomorrow. There will be a main list of major projects. Don would like to receive information on anticipated changes that will impact how we do business as we move into civil service reform and collective bargaining. Coordinating work across systems - Gene and Don are meeting with Shelly regarding position control. The system is antiquated and needs to be updated. FMS may be able to go live January 2005.
