VP Issues:

Rich shared an article in the Seattle Daily Journal of Commerce regarding CWU's contribution to the economy of Kittitas County.

Rich reviewed the Cabinet meeting from this week.

Financial Services Issues:

Joe recommends that an additional staff member be hired in ITS for support on FMS.
The Auditors are still reviewing our statements.
The S&A committee is working on their guidelines.
Employees having the authority to sign contracts on behalf of CWU will be required to attend training. (More information will be provided at a later date.)
A Financial Privacy policy needs to be initiated. Joe will follow up on this.
Joe reported that the universal compliance of hotels charging for the first night prior to the actual visit is a problem. OFM will look into this.
Performance measures - other schools are also working on this. Joe will be receiving information from other schools.
KPMG auditor - Joe reviewed several issues with them for compliance. Eric will be receiving information for compliance.

ITS Issues:

Worms, viruses and spam - Roland shared information on CWU's firewall protection from worms, viruses and spam. Central's protection from these intrusions is very good. The numbers are impressive.

HR Issues:

The retirement inducement offer will be sent out next week.

Facilities Management:

Bill indicated that FMD is looking at revising the "Outline of Contract" form. This would eliminate signatures necessary to process the contract.

Bill distributed a CWU Emergency Response Priorities to include FMD's areas of responsibility.
Bill distributed a City of Ellensburg and CWU Facility and Utility Point of Contact.
Bill requested an updated CWU Emergency Phone Tree. This will be updated in the fall.
Bill informed the group that FMD is reviewing capital project commitments.
FMD is working on closing out projects that should be closed out at the end of the fiscal year.

EIS:

Status Report for April on the Student Administration (SAFARI) Project - Things are going well.

FOG - 5/8/03 notes shared. Joe reiterated that payroll is still a concern.
