Minutes
November 6, 2001
VP Issues:
BAC will meet next week from 1-3 on Thursday, November
15th
Please send your goals recommendations to Rich by the end
of next week.
Board items are due to Shirley by 11/19 for the December
board meeting.
Financial Services Issues:
-
BAR Meeting-Items of Interest – COP item for
discussion will be the state auditor office now
charging for NACUBO financial statement audits (ICBO
agenda)

Other universities have raised the limit for charges on
the Purchasing card to save time and paper in
processing purchases.
-
WEB payments are up at other schools – we will be
looking at maybe using the WIN to accommodate web
payments (the U of W charges a service fee for
tuition/room/board paid by credit card)
-
Local Government Investment Pool (LGIP) – state
treasurer’s money market account is working well.
Several of the universities (CWU, EWU, Evergreen and
Western) are utilizing the service.

Federal Government has compiled a list of companies and
providers illegal to deal with due to terrorism; OFM is
following up on this and will forward this list to
agencies to check against vendors.

GASB – reporting requirements are being worked on
– these are state as well as national reporting
requirements
7. Susan Musselman’s (bond consultant) request for
financial information for CWU bond rating is being
compiled.
CTS Issues:
-
Mitchell Hall DHCP – computer identification
routing upgrade has been completed. Barge Hall will be
done next week.

Telephone rate revisions – Rich will review with
Gene
Facilities Management:
-
Consultants are being reviewed for design and
development phase of the Recreation Center and Union
Building project
-
Dean Hall use is being reviewed.
HR Issues:
-
T&D Manager/Supervisor training programs -
attendance has been very low.

The kickoff for the Campus Community Building Program
will be held on November 28. The purpose of the program
is to give members of the university community who are
concerned about improving the university’s
climate a positive way to direct their energy and an
opportunity to connect with other university members
who also want to take action to improve their
community. Brochures are available from Human Resources
on this program.
