Vice President Business Council Minutes October 18, 2001 VP Issues: Rich encouraged all areas to review their budgets carefully. The search for a new Manager for the University Store is progressing. A representative from the Department of Ecology visited campus and looked at our environmental safety procedures. No serious issues were reported. There have been five architectural/engineering firms selected to make presentations on campus in November. One company will be selected for the design and development of the Rec Center and SUB. Rich met with Ted Barkley, City Manager. A meeting will be set up between representatives of the city and CWU to discuss the Brooklane well. Cabinet retreat will be held Friday afternoon. Kamola Hall restoration project is moving forward. Financial Services Issues: Financial Statements are being worked on. CTS Issues: INET operations cost – CTS will assume the budget responsibility for INET. 66 – November 1 is the effective date for the conversion to “66” as an access code for dialing off campus. This change does not affect the residence halls. New Telcomm rates will be discussed with the Cabinet. Roland indicated that Gene Rau is working on the anticipated cost for the implementation of the Student module of Peoplesoft. Facilities Management:Bill presented a Co-generation plant proposal to Rich. He will review it.The VietNam Wall will arrive on Friday. Arrangements have been made with contractors to avoid problems during the planned events. |
