VP Issues:

AVP Issues:

Rich indicated that the Residence Hall occupancy numbers for Fall 2001 look strong (up approximately 300 from this time last year).

The Kamola design phase is progressing.

Rich shared a draft Performance Based Budgeting document for Nasser to review.

Rich shared a draft proposal for the Site and Development Committee – this will be reviewed again next week and forwarded to the Cabinet for their approval.

CWU is included in an Asbestos Settlement (Class action suit) – no further information is available at this time.

Outstanding Tort Claims received to date were reviewed – Rich will follow-up with risk management training for appropriate staff.

BU II Negotiation Preparations are going on. We have recommended the management team for the negotiations to the BOT for approval. Negotiation training will take place at the end of August.

Financial Services Issues:

Joe attended the HECB Cost Study meeting last week. The process will be the same as in the past.

PSFT Management/Liaison/coordinator – Any information received regarding new applications should be forwarded to Norman at CTS.

HRS Concerns - There are still many operational problems and system interface development issues. Joe will provide detailed information to Nasser for review.

FMS Update - By the end of July we should have all internal feeds coming in. We are working on getting financial reports available. We need query reports for monitoring and controls. The consultant is scheduled to be here next week to assist in resolving outstanding issues. The AFRS interface is not complete and is a priority.

Closing FY 2001 – Debbie Boddy will be pulled from FMS training to process year end closing to the state and facilitate FY 2001 Financial Statements.

AFRS accountant and the accounts payable position interviews are being conducted this week.

CTS Issues:

Dial X for outside calls Proposal – The proposal to change from using 9 to access an outside line to dialing 66 as an access code will be presented to the Cabinet next week.

Four public email stations have been installed in the OWHI room in the SUB with the help of John Drinkwater. There are now five stations available across campus. If you know of other places where a station would be useful please contact CTS at 2333. We have several computers available to meet these requests.

There is a “Code Red” computer worm infecting Microsoft IIS servers on campus. There is a general problem on the K-20 network. The Networks & Operations staff is working with these folks to help mitigate the problems. CTS is working with campus offices to make sure access is secure.

CSS will provide loaner 15-inch monitors to clients whose monitors have to be returned for repair under warranty.

Unique Microcomputer, one of two vendors CWU has consistently used, has gone out of business. CSS will assume the role and expenses of repairing these computers for clients. The estimated cost of repair parts is $10,932 over the next three years. There are 348 computers with 1 year or less remaining under warranty, 158 with 2 years or less remaining under warranty, and 11 with 3 years or less remaining. Monitors and hard drives are covered by their respective manufacturers' warranties. CSS will bear the cost of shipping and freight that Unique would have covered.

Roland is away on approved leave until August 1, and Nancy Jackson until August 13.
