VP Issues:

Associate VP Issues:

Rich reviewed the progress in the Synthesizing committee. They are working on the six emphases and will identify sub goals or themes. The report should be done by the end of the month.

Rich indicated that he had received a request that Central include additional department listings in the Ellensburg Telephone Book. Norman will check on this.

VPSAEM search report – Rich reported that the committee is now screening files.

Rich met with the ASCWU BOD students on Tuesday evening and with the Residence Hall Council on Wednesday evening to discuss the Room and Board portion of the Business Plan.

The Parking Advisory Committee will be meeting on the parking rates this month.

Rich reviewed last week’s Cabinet meeting.

The cable contract negotiations are proceeding for service to the residence facilities.

CTS Issues:

The 5 new ResNet T-1’s are up and running. Bandwidth usage on these lines may be found at http://mot.resnet.cwu.edu/mrtg/gwb/ Thanks to Chris Timmons and CTS for a great job!

Residence Halls Long Distance RFP is being prepared to go out for bid. It will include provisions for on-campus long distance services.

Continuous Power in the Computer Center – By the end of February, 2001, the Facilities Management Department will submit a consultant’s report to the BAC showing several options to supply continuous power to the computer center.

Peoplesoft SA – review of needs analysis continues.

A student has expressed concern about the use of smokeless tobacco in the computer labs as being a health hazard and an opportunity for damage to expensive computers. Rich is reviewing the policy regarding smokeless tobacco. CTS has included smokeless tobacco in its notice of “No food or drink, including Smokeless Tobacco, in these Labs” on the basis of repair considerations.

Facilities Issues:

Brailsford &Dunlevy are here to discuss the Quality of Life Facilities. Several meetings have been scheduled and should include all areas of the campus community.

Bill Vertrees indicated that we will burn diesel for February.

In accordance with the Governor’s directive, Bouillon has been gone through and several revisions done to conserve energy.

Bill Vertrees will be meeting with union representatives every first and third week of the month to touch base and work on communication.

Non-motorized transportation and parking issues are being reviewed (part of the master plan).
