Vice President Business Council Minutes January 16, 2001 VP Issues: AVP Issues: The Old Hospital is again on the market for sale and will be put out for bid. We are in the process of negotiating with Charter Communication for cable television service for the Residence Halls and apartments. Financial Services Issues: Joe is at training for the Financials module of PeopleSoft. CTS Issues: This is to follow up on our earlier conversation regarding connecting Resnet to the sites listed below. The figures CTS has prepared are based on “today's” rates, prices, and the distribution design provided by Conley Eng. Brooklane = $109,200.00 Wahle = $28,800.00 Getz-Short = $10,600.00 Campus Courts = $5300.00 These estimates include electronics not addressed in the Proposal Dated 1-10-2001 from Conley Engineering, and the labor from CTS for project support. RFP for long distance service for the residence halls is due 2/9. This is a reminder to save information on the file server rather than on your hard drive. The file server is backed up every night and your chance of losing data if your hard drive crashes is minimized. The switching of batteries in the computer center is complete. In the case of a power outage, the computer center has a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) to furnish power for a minimal amount of time to the computers to allow them to shut down in an orderly fashion and retain data.
