Employee Assistance Program Orientation A training of general information about the EAP and how to access no-charge, confidential services available for all state employees and family members. The EA professional will discuss various kinds of resources and help EAP offers-from personal to workplace issues. Change can create workplace conflict and communication problems. Change presentations explore the nature of change and help increase understanding of the impact on individuals and teamwork. Each presentation includes discussion of techniques and services that can help employees actively participate in their own change-management. Participants are encouraged to develop positive strategies to cope with change. Employees will leave a change presentation with greater insight and practical skills for effectively managing change. Chronic Illness in the Workplace An aging population plus medical advances have resulted in more employees who are chronically ill. This presentation is designed to help supervisors and managers deal with the impact of chronic illness in the workplace and to help employees understand their roles and responsibilities working with a chronically ill coworker.
This workshop presents a rationale for conflict resolution, including myths and truths about its promise. We will explore the causes of conflict, definitions of "interest-based negotiation" and skills necessary to successfully resolve differences in the workplace. Emotional Impact of Retirement This is not a financial planning seminar, but an opportunity to think and consider how we can prepare ourselves emotionally for retirement. This is a positive look at possibilities for the future and is not limited to employees actively considering retirement.
Grief is a natural response to loss. People encounter painful losses throughout a lifetime-death, illness or injury, divorce or loss of a job or dream. Grief is one of the complex emotional issues with which every workplace must deal. This workshop explores the dynamics of grief and loss and the impact on an individual and the workplace.
