The College-Level Examination ProgramŽ or CLEP provides students of any age with the opportunity to demonstrate college-level achievement through a program of exams in undergraduate college courses. There are 2,900 colleges that grant credit and/or advanced standing for CLEP exams. CLEP Website
Important Note: Candidates may not repeat a CLEP exam of the same title within six months. Scores of exams repeated earlier than six months will be canceled and test fees forfeited.

The CLEP is a prepay test. To sign up, pay $15 to the Cashier's Office in Barge Hall room 108 (963-2224) and either call or stop by the Testing office to sign up ahead of time. There is an additional charge of $60 on the day of the test that must be paid to CLEP with a credit or debit card. The Compass test is given to students to place into English 101 or Math 101, Math 130 or Math 164 if they did not score high enough on their SATs or ACTs. Also, those who are attempting to enter CWU and are 25 or older need to take the Compass test. The test is composed of Reading, Writing, and Math sections. Only those attempting admittance to CWU need to take the Reading section.
Anyone requesting COMPASS test scores will be charged $5 each.

The GED is taken by those who did not earn a high school diploma. By passing this test, the test taker shows that (s)he possesses the academic skills necessary. The cost of the test is $85 which is to be paid at the Cashier's office in Barge Hall 104. On the day of the test you will need to bring your receipt, vaild photo ID, and all required paper work to Bouillon 125.
Anyone requesting a GED transcript will be charged $5 each. |
