Objectives

  1. Describe in general terms how to design a table; discuss three guidelines you can use in the design process.

  2. Describe the data types and properties available within Access and the purpose of each; set the primary key for a table.

  3. Use the Table Wizard to create a table; add and delete fields in an existing table.

  4. Discuss the importance of data validation and how it is implemented in Access.

  5. Use the Form Wizard to create one of several predefined forms.

  6. Distinguish among a bound control, an unbound control, and a calculated control; explain how each type of control is entered on a form.

  7. Modify an existing form to include a combo box, command buttons, and color.

  8. Switch among the Form view, Design view, and Datasheet view; use a form to add, edit, and delete records in a table.
