Brittany Berg
Hello, my name is Brittany Berg and I from Marysville, Washington. I am a junior at Central and I am currently majoring in public health with a minor in nutrition. My favorite quote comes from my mom and pertains to my everyday living. She always said “See it, believe it, achieve it.” This quote fits perfectly with my philosophy in fitness. If you can see your goal and believe you can accomplish it, then you can achieve that goal. Generally I like to look at the big picture when it comes to fitness; incorporating a healthy lifestyle, good nutrition, stress management, and, of course, exercise! I am an ACE Certified Personal Trainer as well as a certified PilatesFit® instructor. Core training, weight loss and overall body toning are among my specialties, not to mention finding unique ways to make fitness enjoyable!

Chris Whiteman
Hi, I’m Chris Whiteman and I’m from Oak Harbor, WA. I just transferred to CWU from WSU and I am majoring in Technology Education with a minor in Math- I really want to be a shop teacher! My favorite quote? “It’s another day in paradise”! I was a wrestler and played football in high school, and have been an avid weightlifter since I was in the 7th grade. As time has gone on, I have become more involved in weightlifting. A buddy of mine who was a trainer, now graduate, of WSU, was the one that really convinced me to get my ACE certification in personal training. Plus, I was tired of people who did not know anything about weightlifting try to tell me how to workout! To me, physical fitness is a way of life. I tell myself everyday that I cannot eat dinner until I finish my workout for that day. I specialize in weight training/body building/power lifting, as well as specific ISO lifts. I am also familiar with cross training for motocross/supercross riding, and any other generic dirtbike/motorcycle related training.

Jenny Hook
Hi, my name is Jennifer Hook and my home town is Kennewick, Washington. I am a junior transfer student and my major is Elementary Education and my minor is Early Childhood Education. I am an ACE Certified Personal Trainer. My philosophy on exercise is simple... exercise is supposed to be FUN!!! Why in the world would someone do something they really do not find enjoyable? I believe that as a trainer it is my job to show my clients how to enjoy exercise. I also believe it is not my job work them so hard that they can barely walk the next day. What is the fun in working too hard one day, only to be miserable the next? My area of expertise would have to be weight loss, through nutrition, cardio and weight training… in that order. A quote I like: "In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on." -Robert Frost

Spencer Hart
Hi, my name is Spencer Hart and I am from Edmonds, WA. I am currently a junior at Central Washington University, and I am majoring in Exercise Science. I am NCSF (National Council of Strength and Fitness) certified, Red Cross CPR certified and am currently working on my ACE certification and a NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) certification. I also worked at a gym in Edmonds, Mieko's Fitness, for just under two years as a trainer and have worked with many different types of clients. I have been competitively powerlifting for the past two years, winning all but one and setting two state records. I would have to say that the reason I got into the field of training would be simply because I like helping people reach their goals. It's never easy to reach a goal by yourself, wether it's losing weight, becoming stronger, faster, or even gaining weight (muscle). Even trainers workout with others because everyone always needs a spotter or someone to make sure even their form is correct. My favorite quote would have to be, "For me life is continuously being hungry. The meaning of life is not simply to exist, to survive, but to move ahead to go up, achieve, to conquer." - Arnold Schwarzenegger. Well if you enjoy being pushed and would like some help achieving your goals give me an e-mail.

Andy Aversano
Hello my fellow CWU students, my name is Andy Aversano. I grew up on a small island called’ “Bainbridge Island”. I am currently a senior at our university and I am majoring in Exercise Science. Exercise Science was not what I planned to do when I graduated high school in 2003. I was set on doing Studio Art, believe it or not. After studying art for some time I thought to myself, “Wow, you are getting a little bit chubby, Andy”. That was in January of 2005. I was over 200 pounds and I stand a mere five feet eight inches tall. I bought a men’s health book and started reading about how to gain muscle and burn fat. I hit the gym and started applying the things I learned, to myself. I kept studying Art but at the same time this getting in shape thing started to be my hobby. This new hobby of mine started to take over my life. I could not wait to get out of my classes so I could get to the gym and do some of the new things I had been reading about. I remember one day I was looking in the mirror and I saw something I had never seen before, my abs! I remember this huge emotional wave came over me I fell to my knees and started to cry. That was when I got hooked on Exercise Science. I could not believe how good I felt about myself inside and out. I told myself I would dedicate my life to helping others achieve that feeling of success I felt when I saw my abs. It would be my honor to help you achieve your goals no matter what they are. If you believe you can succeed, I will make sure you get there. Much love to all, you can contact me at aversanoa@cwu.edu

Hi, my name is Chad Antonie and I was born and raised in Yakima. I am a senior Exercise Science major, minoring in Athletic Training and working through the Pre-Physical Therapy program. The words I live by… “If I can’t do then it can’t be done!” I am a trainer because I love to see people set goals and then help achieve them. I excel in training people for hypertrophy, strength, power, and toning goals. And please don’t be scarred to come up and say what’s up to me- I’m only intimidating until you get to know me then I’m the nicest guy you’ll ever meet! And I’m growing out my facial hair for Halloween to be Leonidas!

Hi, I'm Jonathan Shepherd. I was born in Bremerton but have lived in Port Orchard for the majority of my life. I was very active in high school sports, playing football, basketball and track. I came to CWU in 2004 to play football, played for 2 years, then gave it up for higher education. I love to be active. Oh, and I'm known as the Ultimate Fan, so you can catch me at any sporting event. I'm majoring in Exercise Science and plan to go to Graduate School after this year (to pursue a grad degree in strength and conditioning). I absolutely loves to see athletes in motion. I am very dedicated and committed to helping others reach their health goals. I was an overweight child and stumbled upon weightlifting and conditioning and it has completely changed my life.
