Bridges to Baccalaureate : The Direct Transfer Associates Degree |
The Direct Transfer Associates (DTA) DegreeTransfer from YVCC to CWU. Course articulation agreements exist for academic institutions in Washington to facilitate students' transfer from community colleges to CWU. Community college transfer students must have a 2.5 or better GPA (on a 4-point scale). Completion of a Direct Transfer Associate's degree (DTA) at YVCC confers automatic admission into CWU. Coursework completed during the DTA degree satisfies CWU's lower-division general education requirements and many introductory level courses required for biology, anthropology, or psychology majors, which allows the transferring Bridges student to concentrate on upper-division coursework in their two majors and on available research opportunities while at CWU. The Bridges students will work closely with faculty advisors at CWU to insure timely completion of the DTA degree and registration for courses that apply to the majors. YVCC faculty mentors and the assigned peer mentor will also support Bridges students throughout this process. Required courses for the PBE and associated second degree (in anthropology, biology, or psychology) are listed here (Link to these figures). DTA information for each major |
